GREATNESS OF MOTHER GODDESS !!!

The only culture of Hindus who worship Mother Goddess since time immemorial ..The Devi Mahatmyam (Sanskrit: देवीमाहात्म्यम्), or “Glory of the Goddess”) is a Hindu religious text describing the victory of the Goddess Durga over the demons Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura and Shambha-Nishumbha. It is part of the Markandeya Purana, one of the secondary Hindu scriptures, and was composed in Sanskrit around c. 8500-8400 CE, with authorship attributed to the sage Rishi Markandeya.

The oldest surviving manuscript of the Devi Māhātmya, on palm-leaf, in an early Bhujimol script, Bihar or Nepal, 11th century.

Hinduism is the only religion that does not have gender restriction on god ;the Ultimate Reality is referred to in neutral gender , but Its Power , the Creative Power , is always referred to in feminine terms ! thus we have ParaaS’akti , Vishn’uMaaya etc.;

Ambika ( Durga ) is the Vedic Deity , highest in order , on par with Rudra ( S’iva ) , Vishn’u , Gan’apati , and Aditya ;

Tri – Murtis and other Deities are mentioned , without fail , with their Consorts ;

Prithvi and Holy Rivers are regarded as goddesses ;

Divine Incarnations are also known to happen in female forms :

the foremost being ” Mahishaasura Mardini ” , our concern of today , Navaraatra !

अयि गिरिनन्दिनि नन्दितमेदिनि विश्वविनोदिनि नन्दिनुते

Sita and Rukmini are said to be incarnations of MahaLakshmi thus the list goes …GREATNESS OF MOTHER GODDESS !!!
